Mar. 2024 - May. 2024
The “S” statue is a 7-foot-tall statue made out of foamcore and plywood. I made it for the 2024
KASA show, “osKArs,” and it was displayed in front of Tech Auditorium on May 3rd, 2024, the day of
the show. Since theme of the show was an award ceremony, I decided to make a huge trophy statue as
an attraction. After the show was over, the statue was dismantled and disposed of. (We kicked it
down)

The original plan was to make the base circular and the "S" shape on top to rotate. However, I didn't have enough time to cut plywood in a circular shape and incorporate the motor.

Manufacturing
I first divided the "S" shape into seven parts and cut the outline on cardboard using the laser cutter. Then I taped the cut cardboard on foamcore and used the bandsaw. After that, I glued the side profile and supports.

The next step was making the square base out of 0.25" thick plywood. Once that was done, I started filling gaps and flushes using putty.

The last step before assembly was spraypainting the parts gold and brown. After painting the two parts, I assembled them together.

Destruction
At the end of the show, no one, including myself, did not want to take the statue back home. So we ended up destroying it.
